The AK-630M is a small unmanned turret housing a single AO-18 six barrel 30mm autocannon. 2.000 rounds are stowed below deck and are ready to fire. The Chinese H/PJ13 uses a more angular housing in order to reduce radar cross section. Internally the H/PJ13 is practically identical to the AK-630M.
The MR-123 radar is the visible element of the A-219 Vympel-A fire control system. The MR-123 has the NATO reporting name "Bass Tilt" and can control up to two AK-630M close-in weapon systems. The system is controlled by a single operator using a console located in the ship's command center.

A single H/PJ13 is located on the bow. Apparently it is used as a naval gun instead of a close-in weapon system.
The two ships of the Type-054 class are fitted with four 30mm H/PJ13. The improved Type-054A features two Type 730 (early) or Type 1130 (late).
The AK-630 is armed with a single water cooled AO-18 six barrel autocannon chambered for 30x165mm electrically primed ammunition.
The AK-630 was developed as a more capable successor to the twin barrel AK-230 system.
The AK-306 is a more basic self-defense gun turret derived from the AK-630. It uses the lower rate of fire air cooled AO-18L and lacks the below deck ammunition feed. It is also guided solely by optronic director and lacks radar guidance.
China developed the Type 730, also known as H/PJ12, as a more capable alternative to the AK-630M, which is produced locally as the H/PJ13.
Together with its American counterpart, the Mk 15 Phalanx, the AK-630M is the most widely used close-in weapon system.
